Annual Letter 2024

Dear friends of Girls to School,

It’s back-to-school time! As an exciting new academic year unfolds in Mauritania, we want to share the progress that’s been made thanks to your commitment and generosity, as well as a devastating setback in the community.

But first: last year, you invested in 356 girls and women! WOW, thank you. Every year when we write this letter, we’re so deeply thankful for your partnership in bringing this work to life. You’re helping unlock potential and bright futures for so many (read a few stories below).

The program team organized and held multiple extracurricular activities throughout the year. This included:

  • Reading days at the community center’s library; Monthly classes for the girls to learn how to dance, draw, and participate in theater;
