As an exciting new academic year unfolds in Mauritania, we want to share the progress that\u2019s been made thanks to your commitment and generosity, as well as a devastating setback in the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But first: <strong>last year, you invested in 356 girls and women! <\/strong>WOW, thank you. Every year when we write this letter, we\u2019re so deeply thankful for your partnership in bringing this work to life. You\u2019re helping unlock potential and bright futures for so many (read a few stories below).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>program team <\/strong>organized and held multiple extracurricular activities throughout the year. This included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Reading days at the community center\u2019s library; Monthly classes for the girls to learn how to dance, draw, and participate in theater;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Community cleaning days where the girls planted 120 trees and cleaned 25 neighborhoods.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>Community Center <\/strong>serves as the safe space and heart of our community, offering a hub for learning, growth, and support for the girls, microfinance groups, and community members.
